Jerry Vandiver: Songwriter, Author, Educator

Two of Jerry Vandiver‘s songs hang on the wall of the Country Music Hall of Fame. His creations appear on more than 15 million records by such artists as Tim McGraw (including chart-toppers “For a Little While” and “It Doesn’t Get Any Countrier Than This”), Gene Watson, Wild Rose, Phil Vassar, Lee Greenwood and Barbara Mandrell.

Jerry coauthored Your First Cut: A Step-by-Step Guide to Getting There with songwriter Gracie Hollombe (now Vandiver).

Jerry leads workshops in the United States and Australia, serves on the faculties of the National Songwriters Association International (NSAI) Song Camp and Songposium, and serves as guest critiquer at NSAI’s Nashville workshops.

He’s also a fine softball player and paddles a mean canoe — from Canadian rivers and lakes to rescuing people and their belongings during Nashville’s flood of 2010. His latest album, “True and Deep,” features beautiful and deeply experiential songs on the river.
